The handsome Ethan Peck spills on starring in the Italian luxury label's new short.
fans of Ethan Peck may recognize the star for his roles in the TV version of 10 Things I Hate About You and the films Eden and Nothing Left to Fear, and now they'll be able to find him in Salvatore Ferragamo's new fashion film, Coming Home to Hollywood, which celebrates the brand's 100-year anniversary and its longtime love affair with Tinseltown.

As the star of the two-minute-long short, Peck says his late grandfather, onscreen legend Gregory Peck, inspired him to take part in the film.

"I know he and Ferragamo collaborated many years ago. I have the unique situation of being his grandson, hence, I'm gratefully the recipient of some special opportunities such as this," Peck told Pret-a-Reporter. "I myself, however, am also becoming more engaged with the fashion world, so I take some responsibility, too."

Being part of the fashion short was particularly special for Peck since it also led him to own something from the brand for the first time.

"The first Ferragamo piece I've ever owned is the suit you see me wearing in the video! The generous people at Ferragamo saw it as so fitting for me personally, and that's also why it is and always will be special," shared the 29-year-old actor, who also appeared in a fashion film for Louis Vuitton in 2012.

Peck appreciates the Italian luxury label for "their loyalty to their origins. I think it takes a lot of integrity to stay classy after so many years as the world continues to change and restructure." He added, "And, of course, they have exquisite clothing."

The actor, who was born and raised in Hollywood ("near Fairfax and Sunset"), shared that one of his most memorable moments in the biz so far involved seeing Skyfall actor Javier Bardem.

"I can't say I have had a ton of Hollywood exposure, as strange as that sounds. But by pure happenstance, I trailed Javier Bardem on a red carpet at a film festival in Palm Springs years ago. He's one of my idols, and I endeavor to walk an artistic path similar to his own," he said. "There was a level of metaphorical symbolism that I grabbed hold of that night, and it keeps me motivated."

Massimiliano Giornetti's collection for Ferragamo was a serious, non-nonsense affair with the lightness of air.
MILAN, Italy — Without it even being a specific reference, the easiness of Massimiliano Giornetti’s Spring collection for Salvatore Ferragamo evoked — with equal ease — a couple of decades in mid-century American fashion when Claire McCardell was designing, and Toni Frissell was photographing fashion. Giornetti’s long sundresses and off-the-shoulder flounced tops, either strapless or hanging off spaghetti-thin strips, were in the vein of both those women’s visions.

“Everything’s made in cotton,” said the designer, some of it waxed for special effect, which enhanced the classic summeriness. Giornetti wanted lightness in the clothes, because the accessories were, he claimed, extremely constructed.  He opened a smock-top along its seams, did the same thing with a pair of trousers that were then tied at the side. The essence of the collection was air.

It was also about simple shapes with arcane flourishes. A froth of marabou would usually sound frilly, but here it was serious: as the cuff detail on a severe black coat, or trimming the neckline of a dress in black chiffon. In fact, seriousness — or at least, the no-nonsense-ness that characterised McCardell’s work — sat comfortably next to lightness. The single large pearls that adorned ears and throats were “serious”. So, in their way, were the capes, and the curious palette of muted orange, yellow, green and blue. Again, they seemed like mid-century colours.

And that all might have been a million miles away from Giornetti’s intention, except that “subtle seduction,” was what he was after, “because”, he added, “shyness is more sensual.” And if that’s what he wanted, that’s what he got.

The master of the stiletto, the creator of the cage heel, innovator and inventor of the wedge — with more than 350 patents, Salvatore Ferragamo was certainly one of the most prolific shoe designers of his time. Today, the same principles of superior architecture and innovation are applied to all of the brand's creations.

For the revamp of the Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive store, creative director Massimiliano Giornetti designed an exclusive pair of platforms ($1,290), as well as a bag ($2,100) to match. Taking a page from the famed Renaissance sandal Ferragamo created in 1938 that was inspired by the Italian "chopines" of the 1500s, he updated the shoe with a thoroughly modern aesthetic. The black-and-gold creation features a deco-inspired architectural heel atop a platform base, with a sculptural open toe and ankle strap.

James Ferragamo weighed in on statement heels of the season: "It's all about proportion. We believe that a shoe has to be balanced, and you will see that not only in my grandfather's designs, but the ones you see here."

Of course, if those don't strike your fancy, the store is stocked full of python platform wedges, stacked mules, classic stilettos, the Vara in new fabrications (like a laser-cut suede with a sparkly gold underlay and mirror heel), mink-trimmed ankle-strap platforms and flats, slingbacks and espadrilles from the Ferragamo's Creations collection.
She's been busy all week shooting her new comedy-drama Mother's Day in Atlanta, Georgia with co-star Jennifer Aniston.
Kate Hudson was back to being a sexy city slicker as she was spotted picking up a newspaper and a small coffee in New York on Friday.
The 36-year-old actress might have caused some whiplash among the commuters as well, thanks to a short pair of denim, trendily distressed shorts that showed off her toned legs.

There is no mistaking Kate Hudson's quirky style. She always walks to the beat of her own drum and that, in Fashion Finder's humble opinion, is what makes her look so fab. cheapferragamosale

Her summer outfit here combines Seventies, boho and surfer girl and the mismatch works a treat. The fringed bag is the boho bit while the shark print top and shorts have a real L.A. beach vibe.

But it's the shoes that are the real crowning glory here. These beauties are an espadrille/wicker hybrid and scream Seventies while, at the same time, looking beautifully contemporary.

Kate matched her revealing shorts with an artsy black and white tank top that exposed her equally toned arms.
Beige leather and macramé platform sandals must have added a few inches to the star's 5 ft 6 frame as well.
Kate shaded her eyes behind tinted sunglasses while leaving a hotel, seemingly strolling towards a waiting cab with her beverage and newspaper in hand.

The mother-of-two obviously is relishing a break from shooting her new film, in which she plays Jesse, who is wed to a successful doctor (played by Aasif Mandvi).
Filming commenced two weeks ago in the Georgia capital, where Kate has been seen getting along splendidly with her co-star Jennifer Aniston, 46.

The close-up snap showed Kate giving the camera a knowing look while Jennifer smiled saucily and hid half her face in Hudson's sleek locks, which one thinks was no coincidence.
